American Red Cross of Burlington County – Teens Helping in Action (THIA) Youth Group

 A NEW group of high school age volunteers from throughout Burlington County who meet twice monthly to organize, plan and run projects related to Red Cross lines of service: Disaster Services, Service to the Armed Forces, Health & Safety Services, Blood Services and International Services. Students work on projects on their own time in between regular meetings. YMCA Camp Ockanickon’s Gobbler 5k Run and Family Fun Walk – Volunteers Needed

Laurel, N.J.– Help spruce up the grounds at Paulsdale, the birthplace and family home of New Jersey’s most famous suffragist, Alice Stokes Paul.The Alice Paul Institute needs volunteers to help pick up branches and clear the property of debris at Paulsdale, 128 Hooton Rd., Mt. Laurel, on cleanup day, Saturday, Nov. 14, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (weather permitting).  Bring gloves and dress for cold weather.

AMERICORPS V.I.S.T.A. Volunteer AMACHI Program  

Job Description

a. Identifying federal, state and county officials who will assist in locating either the children of incarcerated parent(s) or the parent(s) themselves.

b. Developing and facilitating educational and recruitment materials related to the AMACHI program.
c. Identifying and meeting with partner agencies in the AMACHI program, including senior citizens groups, youth programs and civic clubs in the county.
d. Mapping out recruitment opportunities in a community and arranging recruitment events, primarily in congregations and faith-based organizations.

e. Maintaining program quality by planning monthly events to meet program goals and objectives designed to meet the critical community need and offering opportunities for senior citizens to maintain their self-esteem and usefulness through this service for their community.
f. Develop and submit reports, evaluations and other documentation as required.
g. Maintaining professional knowledge and skills by attending relevant workshops, training, conferences; reviewing professional materials and participating in professional organizations.
h. Working closely with the RSVP Project Director for assistance on matters relating to the operation of the project.
