Ally’s Birthday Wish 2nd Annual Event will be held on February 19th, 2012 at the Aloft Hotel Ballroom in Mount Laurel, NJ, from 1:00 pm to 5:00pm

Our Mission: “Wish Upon A Hero (wishuponahero.com) is an online social helping network that empowers individuals, charities and business to grant the wishes of those in need.” Wish Upon A Hero Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization.

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life through celebrations and the contributions of people who care. Our cause is the direct wish of a young girl, named Ally, who is grateful for the wonderful things in her life. Ally simple wants to show her gratitude by helping less fortunate children experience joys that they might not otherwise experience. With your help, Ally’s birthday wish can come true.
Ally’s Birthday Wish originated when Ally was trying to decide how she would celebrate her birthday. Her wish was simple-to have an ordinary party at her home where, instead of gifts, she would ask for donations. She planned to use the donations to help a local child, one battling a serious illness, have a fun day because he or she needed it more than Ally did. Her wish started small but as her parent’s explored ways to make her wish come true it became bigger than Ally ever dreamed possible. Thanks to the generosity of individuals at the Aloft Hotel in Mt. Laurel and many other caring people, the “simple” birthday will be held in the Aloft Hotel Ballroom which seats more than 400 people! Ally and her family now have hopes of raising enough money to truly help several sick children enjoy a much need family outing/vacation that would have not been possible otherwise.

The Snuggles Project – Giving Comfort to Shelter Animals

The Snuggles Project was founded by our president and founder, Rae French, in 1996 because of her heartfelt need to do something for the innocent victims who find themselves in animal shelters without a bit of comfort to call their own. Picturing them in their hard cold cells made her heart ache to do something to help. So she got the idea of security blankets for shelter animals. The security blankets are called “Snuggles.”

The Snuggles Project remains a very popular program of Hugs for Homeless Animals. Since its inception we have provided more than 500,000 Snuggles to shelter animals around the world. That number is continuing to grow.

We welcome your participation. Please read about the program and how to participate. It is important to understand that the future of the project depends on everyone understanding and abiding by the rules of participation.

Ironman U.S. Championship – Volunteer Team Program

The in New Jersey and New York City. Ironman is the world’s most challenging and exciting Triathlon. The 140.6 mile race course consists of a 2.4 mile swim in the Hudson River, 112 mile bike ride on the Palisades Parkway and a 26.2 mile run through the Palisades Park system, with athletes running across the George Washington Bridge and finishing in New York City’s Riverside Park.

The Ironman Foundation is able to make a charitable contribution to approved registered 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1) and 509(a)(2) for fulfilling their commitment to provide volunteers for the Ironman U.S. Championships.

WHAT IS THE VOLUNTEER TEAM PROGRAM?
Volunteers are the backbone of the Ironman experience. The Volunteer Team Program (VTP) is a way for your non-profit to be part of this exciting and unique race. Race organizers will select community and corporate based organizations to staff key areas of the Ironman race and race weekend. From aid stations to registration, starting line to finish line, and hospitality to athlete recovery, the VTP is a way for your group to be part of tri-state sports history. Volunteer groups of 20-100 people bring this exciting event to life. Share the experience; be part of Ironman.

WHAT IS MY ORGANIZATIONS COMMITMENT?

Your organizations first responsibility is to select a Team Captain. The Team Captain is responsible for recruiting and organizing the volunteers for your group.

Next, is to provide the minimum number of volunteers necessary to cover your assigned areas.
o A minimum of 20 volunteers per shift (minimum of 4 hours)
o Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age

WHAT’S IN IT FOR MY ORGANIZATION?
Donation: The Ironman Foundation will provide a donation to approved organizations based on the number of volunteers provided and number of shifts your group works on race weekend.

Team Building: This is an ideal way for your group to come together around helping athletes in the world’s toughest triathlon.
Publicity for Your Group: All volunteer groups will be part of the Ironman publicity effort. We want to help your group in your PR efforts.
WHERE CAN MY ORGANIZATION WORK RACE WEEKEND?
Responsibilities for race weekend vary depending on the volunteer locations. Locations will be available in New Jersey (Bergan County), New York (Rockland County) and in Manhattan. Volunteer groups will be able to choose a location based on the number of volunteers in your group and accessibility to specific areas.
